Patio Reconstruction in Boise, ID

For this Boise home, Hockema Landscape Design & Build was brought in to completely reimagine the outdoor living space. What began as a simple concrete patio update turned into a full backyard remodel, featuring a redesigned layout, new plant beds, and a seamless connection between the old and new surfaces.

The existing concrete posed the biggest challenge—rather than replacing it all, Hockema’s team designed a plan to extend and rebuild the patio, carefully color-matching and texturing the new concrete to blend flawlessly with what was already in place. The goal was to make the transition invisible, so the entire patio would feel cohesive and intentional.

Around the new patio, Hockema added freshly built planting beds, bringing structure and life to an area that previously felt flat and unfinished. The plant palette and layout were chosen to frame the patio naturally and tie into the home’s architecture, creating a space that feels both modern and timeless.

From design concept to the final pour, Hockema Landscape Design & Build handled every detail, ensuring that the finished result feels like an entirely new outdoor living area, yet still belongs perfectly to the home.
